Beaches near Frederiksted
Sandy Beach is situated about 1.500 meters from Frederiksted Hotel. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on St. Croix and has one of the longest sandbeaches on the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is also here the sea-turtles lay their eggs wich is why the beach is closed from April to August. It is only allowed to stay at the beach in the weekends. The beach is not suitable for children because the water is very deep.
Sand Castle Beach is a beautiful long, sand beach with structure of snorkling. The sea is very calm and it is possible to see dolphins. You will find restrooms, bar and restaurant. A perfect beach for the entire family.
The Public Beach a nice and small beach with a magnificent view of Frederiksted – a perfect place to enjoy the sunset. It is a sand beach but further out you will see a very rocky bottom. A nice place to dive!
Frederiksted Pier This is where cruise ships and military ships dock. The water is filled with fish, seahorses and squids. It is very nice to dive here. You will also meet many people who is fishing from the Pier.
Fort Frederik Beach To the right of the Pier is Fort Frederik Beach. It is very popular to dive here and in the afternoon many people is fishing from here. Tere is also a very beautiful sunset. There are restrooms a the beach.
